Lantouri is the name of a gang of thieves and blackmailers in Tehran. Pasha, a member of the gang, falls in love with Maryam, a social activist/journalist who has started a campaign, 'No to Violence' and she tries to convince the families of the crime victims, to forgive the murderers of their loved ones. Maryam rejects Pasha's love, feeling humiliated Pasha decides to take revenge upon Maryam and does irreparable harm to her. Maryam will now have to choose to forgive or seek 'Qesas' (revenge) and request 'eye for eye' punishment according to the Islamic Punitive Laws. Pasha is the mastermind of a street gang that has moved from simple purse snatchings and muggings to car theft, kidnapping and extortion. His backstory is divulged at length and from contradictory points of view: Some say that he's a Robin Hood of sorts who only preys on the corrupt rich and uses his haul to help orphans, while others call him scum. From the standpoint of his fellow gang member Baroon ("I'm Not Angry" co-star Baran Kosari, thrilling here as a bad girl with incredibly alluring eyes), he's a sensitive man who cries when he kills someone. The story is based on a controversial type of revenge which is happening once in a while in some third world's countries.First of all there are a few logical issues with the people reactions about what happened to Maryam,from the beginning of the movie Maryam's friends are talking about her life but they don't show any emotion just because the director wanted to keep everything secret and viewers shouldn't know anything about it,even when a friend is saying that she was first invited by pasha it doesn't make sense at all that how she accepted pasha invitation as an stranger who wants to talk about Maryam,she is even smiled when she said I was the one who connected pasha to Maryam.<br/><br/>The other negative point of the movie is the way that pasha( Navid Mohammadzadeh ) Plays his role.he is pretty much famous for his recent movie called life+1day and he moves his hand exactly like that character in this movie too,it looks like that this is the only character that he can play.<br/><br/>I think this movie was a successful try for the director but it could be made better just by working more on the personalities of the characters. Lantouri in the Persian language means a person who carries a lantern. This movie is the documentary type of movie which showing the story of a girl who victimized from an acid splashed. The story is very sad but real which happened before in Iran and it was the main headlines of social media and newspapers. The main actor who is Navid Mohammadzadeh, act very well and I believe he played his role very perfect for this movie.
